Fertilizing
Licensed and Certified by the Wisconsin Department of Agriculture, Trade and Consumer Protection Agency, WDATCP.com. This is to ensure safe operations for our environment while pushing the envelope with maximum application rates for customer’s lawns, flowers, shrubs and trees. There is a hard test I take every 5 years to obtain such a license. If people look up licensed applicators in my area there are not too many. Many more companies exist that do not have a license than do, so I’m unique in this aspect. This is important to protect our more than 5000 lakes within Vilas and Oneida counties that I operate in. I offer pelletized and liquid applications for flower beds, shrubs and trees. We offer premium products that non-licensed companies/applicators do not have access to. We have a 3 step program for lawns: Spring application, Mid-summer and a fall/winter application. We also spot spray hard to remove weeds like creeping Charlie or creeping Jenny and many others.
Mosquito Control
These are an innovative landscape fixture that provide effective protection from biting mosquitos. They run on low voltage and start providing protection 15 minutes after start-up. The fixtures are designed to mount on a deck post, railing or most commonly stake into the ground. Plus they can be added to existing low voltage lighting systems.
Planting
Accent your property with plantings of annuals, perennials, shrubs and trees. Different plants naturally thrive in different climates. We surely know the core products that perform best in our region. Providing layout of such plantings to ensure customers have the correct planting in the correct areas for specific plant needs like sun and shade and moisture. Hillside and erosion control plantings as well as privacy buffers between neighboring properties are some other examples. I grow some varieties myself and purchase from nurseries that offer locally grown stock that is indigenous to our zone of growing. Also, we can provide animal/squirrel resistant plantings and a full line of products to repel pests. Roto-tilling of gardens/flowerbeds with the ability to test soils for PH or nutrient needs is also available. Pruning of all plants throughout the year is another specialty of ours. We know that some plants need to be pruned at different times of the year to ensure bloom times and health.
Weeding/Maintenance
Accent Landscapes knows the difference between weeds and plants you wish to save. I have grown and maintained over 30,000 one gallon perennials per year with a local nursery I used to work for. Also I’m very familiar with diseases and pests and how to treat those affecting your landscapes. Only premium top-soils and amendments to maximize your plants fullest growth are used. We can spot repair, aerate, de-thatch, and plant/replace lawns with premium seeds perfect for our northern climate. Combined with my fertilizing programs, your property will make the neighbors jealous.
Lawn Mowing
We run less than 2 year old commercial grade equipment on all our properties, and sharpen our blades regularly. Our package includes mowing lawns at correct heights throughout the growing season to ensure a dark green lush and healthy lawn. (Especially when combined with our 3 step fertilizer program). All sticks and debris will be picked up prior to mowing. Line-trimming around all beds, trees and walkways will be done each and every time. To finish it all off, backpack blowers will be used to blow off all hard surfaces like walkways, patios and driveways. Lawn clippings are usually bagged and hauled away, or we can mulch back into the lawn. Some customers have us deposit clipping into a compost pile on their property as well.
Storm and Rubbish Clean-up
If you have storm damage, big or small, we will take care of the entire clean-up process. We do a thorough job cleaning up fallen trees and branches, grinding the remaining stumps, and removing all brush, needles, and leaves. And, if you have old firewood piles that need removal, we are happy to take that burden off your property. We can even cut, split, deliver and stack firewood to replace that old pile as well.
Spring and Fall Clean-ups
We start with the roof on all buildings, and get the debris on the ground. Gutters and downspouts will be cleaned out as well. Then, we go through customers’ properties with the highest blowing commercial backpack blowers made. This is done in spring and in fall and will remove all leaves, acorns, needles and sticks from the lawn and bed areas while fluffing up the lawn. We can blow the debris into the woods, or haul away depending on the property and your preference. One of the most thorough jobs done in the Northwood’s eliminating thatch and un-healthy lawn, plus removing unsightly piles of debris from the property.
Pressure Washing
We pressure wash siding on houses, decks, walkways and patios. This will remove moss and mildew from above surfaces. Then, we can re-sweep the polymeric jointing sand back into flagstone or paver patios. This will harden and become weed and ant proof.
Planting beds
Defining lawn edges and planting beds can be done with plastic or metal edging or even rocks. Beds can then be dressed with a variety of mulches ranging from wood, cranberry leaves or rock. Accent boulders up to 4 feet around can be delivered and installed as well. Sprays are also available to glue down or hold in place the specific media.
Mission Statement
Yearly contracts can be created for any of the above services, or we are happy to help with individual projects as needed. We are fully licensed and insured and offer free estimates. We own our own equipment and make sure it is properly maintained. Some examples are a Bobcat Skidsteer, Husqvarna saws and blowers, Stihl saws and blowers, a 14,000 pound dump trailer, Mantis roto-tiller, Spyker spreaders, Wacker compactors and of course pick-up trucks.
