Over the past decade we have continually tested and developed proven results with our products. We are Licensed and Certified by the Department of Agriculture, Trade, and Consumer Protection (DATCP), Business License #93-022193-018514 and Individual License #297867. This is to ensure safe practices and applications for our customer’s and the environment. Our license also allows access to different products that non-licensed companies cannot use. We are unique, since many companies in the area are not licensed.

Another way we are unique, is our state of the art riding Z-Spray commercial machine. It is extremely accurate ensuring an even application throughout the property. Many companies use poorly calibrated machines, almost always under applying product. While many just spray with a hose, providing an inferior product in comparison to our granular application. This machine applies at the actual rates the Manufacturer recommends with the products. Providing customers all of the product they have paid for and their lawns need.

Over the years, we have developed a proven 3 step program using premium products with proven results on our north woods lawns.

  • Step 1- In the Spring we would apply Sol-U-Cal+ Pelletized Limestone, Granular Weed & Feed, and spray a broadleaf herbicide.
  • Step 2- Midsummer we would apply Sol-U-Cal+ Pelletized Limestone, Granular Feed, and spray a broadleaf and crabgrass/foxtail herbicide.
  • Step 3- In the Fall we would apply a Sol-U-Cal+ Pelletized Limestone, Granular Winter application, and spray a broadleaf herbicide.

We only use Granular products for lawns because it treats the soil and root zones and not just the foliage. Spraying lawns with nutrients does provide an instant green-up, but it is short-lived, lasting only about 3 weeks. Granular also
greens up fast but tends to last 4-6 weeks. This little or no fluctuation between applications allows the lawn to be less stressed and green and lush throughout the growing season. The only spraying we do is for weeds, crabgrass, and invasive species. This is to ensure we are targeting the pest directly, with full strength product. Last but not least is Sol-U-Cal+ Pelletized Limestone during every application. Sol-U-Cal+ Pelletized Limestone helps to balance the soil PH for lawns and landscapes. In our sandy soils, and with all the leaves and needles present in our landscape, Pelletized Lime is essential. Lime will supply essential soluble Calcium to the soil which will raise the PH and promote maximum nutrient availability. By correcting the PH to proper levels, Lime will help make stored and applied nutrients more available to the plant and soil. It can be applied to a wide variety of turfgrasses, including newly seeded areas and existing turf. Flower beds, as well as agricultural crops, will also benefit from Lime. It can be soil incorporated at planting time, or side or top-dressed when turf or plants are growing.

With the ever-changing weather and environment, lawns can sometimes develop issues or problems. We are well versed in diagnosing and treating these problems, and through our licensing, we have access to University of  Wisconsin Agriculture professionals to help identify these problems.

  • Fungus
  • Insects
  • Moss
  • Native/Tough Weeds
  • Invasive or Poison Species Removal.

Not only do we know the general timing of favorable conditions for these problems to arise, but we also know the correct product and timing/stage to treat these problems. Many of these problems go un-noticed to the untrained eye and can happen quickly. Too much rain, too hot, too little rain, too cold are all conditions that can lead to problems. A healthy lawn has built in characteristics to ward off many of these problems, all while looking green and lush throughout the season. We have successfully treated 1000’s of acres of lawns with our 3 step program as well as for diseases and insects. Most customers are not aware of the problems they just see an un-healthy lawn, thinning out and browning in areas.

Once we diagnose the problem and treat it, that’s when customers notice the Golf Course greens we can make happen to any lawn, with or without irrigation.
